Wayne Deckard: We have just one month until our fly-in. For our event we have three different people coming with homebuilts. Purdue will be sending instructors. I am still waiting on an email from Bill Wilson. We will need some tables for exhibitors.

Roy Dawes: I will get them from the Fayette Fire Department.

Wayne Deckard: Chuck Leucht and Chad Williams will coordinate the model aircraft demos. Chuck Leucht volunteered to contact a guy with a 200+ mph aircraft that wants to demo at the show.

Wayne Deckard: Dan Bell (Harley Davidson) will bring his AT6 if it is in Indiana that weekend; no one has contacted Tom Wood yet to see if he wants to show an airplane.

Wayne Deckard: Elections will be coming up soon as we approach our one-year anniversary. Due to the increased workload of the fuel sales, etc., Larry Poe will not be running for treasurer.

Wayne Deckard: How many here are in favor of having our officer elections at the July meeting? (All voted in favor).

Wayne Deckard: We will need people to run for all offices: president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and board of directors.

(Lacking an official direction or precedent, the secretary will collect the names and bios of all running for office and will distribute them before the election.)

Wayne Deckard: We will be bringing in a load of fuel sometime after Memorial Day. New fuel prices will be set at that time. Fuel users are strongly advised to check their sumps with the new fuel, as the tanks tend to stir up junk and water with new loads.

Wayne Deckard will be getting with coordinators to check on the status of the their fly-in projects.

Volunteers are needed to fly to surrounding airports to advertise, also need to get advertisements at churches and schools, grocery stores. Mike Jackson volunteered to put up posters at courthouses.

Wayne Deckard; We can put up posters on factory lounge bulletin boards as these can be regarded as an employee benefit. We need to get permission for each site.

Wayne Deckard will get hats made for volunteers; club to pay for them.

Wayne Deckard: Our biggest concern is to get the property to look good. We have trailers here to haul off the junk. We have a liquid vegetation killer. It does not kill plants but makes the soil incapable of supporting life. We strongly recommend not using it around airplanes. The salesman said it would not corrode metals but we'd rather be safe than sorry. We need to get the hangars cleared out and police the area for appearance and safety. Unplated cars should be removed from the field quickly.

Gene Hollingsworth has been taking care of the soft field. He mows it regularly and has rolled it for smoothness.

Roy Dawes recommended that members vote on who gets priority on a vacant hangar, says seniority is best method. Wayne Deckard says that a waiting list with a $50 holding fee for hangars might be instituted. John Snyder motioned that club make a hangar waiting list; Michael Mossman seconded the motion. All voted in favor. Michael Mossman will post a waiting list sign up sheet.

Michael Mossman: John Frederickson (KitFox) sent an email stating that his company has transferred him to Michigan; he will be leaving in June.

Wayne Deckard motioned buying a computer and software for the club business records, with a limit of $1,000; John Snyder seconded the motion. All voted in favor. Gene Hollingsworth recommended rather than buying a computer now that we wait and allow the incoming treasurer to select something.

On the subject of the vans on the property, the general consensus was that the club scrap the red van and attempt to fix the Aerostar (for a loaner vehicle). Roy Dawes estimated that it would take several days to fix the Aerostar as it will have to be raised to drop out the engine and transmission.

Roy Dawes volunteered to talk to Dan Montgomery at Indianapolis Executive Airport (formerly Terry Airport) about their plans for the old hangars.

Wayne Deckard: We now have 100 gallons of auto gas on the field in the suspended tank for tractors and mowers.

Wayne Deckard says that we are in a strong cash situation; next time we get our insurance bill we could pay for the entire year's premiums. Michael Mossman recommended that since we will have only six months remaining our our airport lease we pay for only six months in advance.

John Snyder motioned to conclude the meeting; Gene Hollingsworth seconded the motion. Meeting adjourned.

Following the meeting those present dined on cold cuts, chips and veggie tray.

(Diane Dawes and Pam Leucht volunteered to assist with the food preparation and serving. Members present decided that pork would be preferred to chickens.)

Minutes respectfully submitted by Michael Mossman, Association Secretary
