Christmas Party: Wayne Deckard commented on the good attendance, camaraderie and fun at the annual Christmas Party held at Green Street Restaurant in Brownsburg on January 21, 2012.

Treasurer's Report: Chad Williams reported that the club has $7,010.21 in the checking account and $1,024.51 in the savings account. He will transfer $5,000 from checking back into savings. Williams reported that all financial records have now been transfered to QuickBooks. Additionally, we may be able to file a short form with our tax filings this year.

Maintenance Report: All equipment appears to be in working order. Steve McClure got the Ford tractor wking.

Member Status Report: Jim Kouns sold his Cherokee, which is due to leave soon. Jim will be in partnership with Tom Rich. Tom will move his Warrior to Jim's hangar when the Cherokee leaves. Jay Schaumberg bought a Beechcraft Sierra, which will be moving to the field soon.

Upcoming Projects: Wayne Deckard led a discussion of upcoming property maintenance projects that the club may undertake. The damaged asphalt area in front of the fuel pumps should be replaced. At previous meetings the club decided to remove the asphalt and replace it with dirt and re-seed it. Wayne asked if anyone might be able to locate some sod to fill in the area.

Public Outreach Programs: Wayne Deckard led a discussion on what types of public outreach programs the club would offer in 2012. Wayne would like to see the club host another "Affordable Flying" event on the third Saturday in June. He also wanted to see the club host another Young Eagles event. The issue of how to advertize a Young Eagles event came up. John Saalwaecther mentioned that his Flint Michigan EAA chapter used to sponsor a float in the Fourth of July parade to advertise an upcoming event. His club used his dune buggy in the parade to show off model airplanes and would hand out flyers, with walkers providing candy, etc. Wayne commended that the weather is often too hot for an effective Young Eagles in the middle of July or early August. The club discussed whether or not to place an aircraft on a float during the parade. Wayne called for a committee to form to look into the Fourth of July. Michael Mossman, John Saalwaechter and Wayne Deckard volunteered. Chad Williams recommeded advertising during the Fourth for an autumn Young Eagles Event. Chuck Leucht volunteered to contact the 4-H groups to see if they were interested in partnering with another Young Eagles event.

Weather Issues: March is coming up so spring is around the corner. Many members have been dealing with an excessive amount of mice and chipmunks this year. Chad Williams volunteered to check with Bane Equipment to see what they are using to keep mice out if their tractors. When April arrives the birds will return. Members are advised to keep cowlings plugged to prevent birds from entering.

Fuel Status: 100LL avgas is again available on the field. Price is $4.65 per gallon, with sales restricted to members only.

Super Bowl Aviation Report: Wayne Deckard led the group on a short discussion of the amount of aviation traffic coming into the Indianapolis area before and after the Super Bowl. Most of the airports in the area were completely full, with no parking space available. Some FBOs some more than 300,000 gallons of Jet A (each) during the event. A few jet and piston engine operators inquired about the runway and parking facilities at Boone County Airport but elected to go elsewhere when they learned of the narrow runway width and/or lack of runoff area for the runways. There were no reports of the Super Bowl TFR being violated.

Adjournment: Wayne Deckard adjourned the meeting.
