Treasurer's Report: $2,870.94 in checking and $2,025.68 in savings.

Fuel: The club paid $15,926.82 for a load of 100LL aviation fuel. Two members provided $5,000 each for a total of $10,000 up front for the fuel and the club paid the rest. The two members will receive 5% simple interest when the fuel is used up and the club will get the balance of the sale. The price is now $5.60 per gallon. Earl Brosman recommended that the club get interest on the auto fuel sold, which would be applied on the next load. The plan is to eventually get enough fuel money in the bank so that we don't need to borrow for a load.

Wish List: Chad Williams requested that the club start a wish list of items that need to be repaired or new projects undertaken. Projects requiring expenditure of club money or modifications to the property will require approval of the club and/or property owners before start. The following is the list offered at the meeting plus the name of the volunteer to spearhead it:

  • Get a budget and source to replace the compact fluorescent lights in front of the hangars and taxiway alleys — Chad Williams
  • Convert the shower in the operations building to a women's rest room — John Saalwaechter volunteered to pay for it out of his pocket. The club will need quotes and a construction team.
  • Get an American flag, flagpole and light — Darren Roberts
  • Paint a mural or murals on the hangars — Chris Henry
  • Get more kids involved in aviation or with the airport — Chris Henry
  • Removing the observation platform — Jim Kouns
  • Building a deck (presumably from the observation platform materials — Chris Henry
  • Entry cover or canopy — CW
  • Rodent control or eradication — Chuck Leucht and Earl Brosman
  • Repairing the separation between the concrete and asphalt along the taxiway — Charles Westerfield
  • Fill the holes in the alley way in front of the maintenance hangar — Dick Gurley
  • Spray cracks in the runway and seal them — CW
  • Replace patch on the north ends of the runway — open
  • Fix/replace light on the wind sock — Jim Kouns
  • Fix/replace motion light on hangar 10 — CW
  • Re-attach power line on the utility poles — Earl Brosman
  • Trim or cut down tree at Don Deckard's house* — open — * There was some discussion about whether or not this would be a legitimate club activity because neither the FAA or INDOT require it for runway certification.
Runway Inspection: The runway passed its annual INDOT inspecition on the first round this year.

Building Improvments or Modifications: Some of the items on the wish list will require prior notification and/or permission of the property owners. Chad Williams will communicate with them and get permissions for any project.

Motion: Chad Williams motioned to remove the observation tower. Chuck Leucht seconded. Motioned passed.

Agricultural Operation: The aerial application company has been asked for a donation for temporary storage of their equipment on the property. We have been offered a trade in labor and other considerations.

Electronics Training: Earl Brosman will conduct a session on how to operate the television and other electronics in the operations building after the meeting.

Insurance: The club is in full compliance with the property owners with our liability insurance.

Change of Meeting Date and Time: Future meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m. The club will have pitch-in food at the September meeting.

Meeting Programs: Future meetings may have educational programs. Chad Williams would like to have a program on ADS-B applications in the near future.

Dog Roast: Scheduled for Saturday, September 22, 2012, with the following Saturday as a rain date.

Telephone Operation: Since the phone is on VoIP, all calls out will need to use the area call, including local calls. No "1" is required at the beginning of the call. There is no toll for long distance. The club will need to make a sign stating how to use the phone and how to re-set the system if necessary.

Wi-FI Operation: Currently, the wi-fi connection is line of sight only down the hangars, unless a member wants to buy and install an antenna.

Adjournment: Steve McClure motioned to adjourn; Charles Westerfield seconded.
