Wish List Reports:

  • LED Lights — Chad Williams researched getting a quantity discount for exterior LED lights for the buildings, etc. Performance will be similar to compact fluorescent but the price will be about $7 each. Chad's proposal is to replace them when necessary. The lights on the windsock don't last very long so that would be a good place to start with the LED lights.

  • Wind Sock Replacement — The wind sock at the middle/north end of the runway will cost $40 from Aircraft Spruce. Chad Williams will order a replacement.

  • Flag Pole — Darren Roberts reported that a 20-foot flag pole wold be $795 installed. Steve McClure volunteered to install a flag pole if the club can make it. Chad Williams motioned that the flag pole be located at the south end of the drive in front of the operations building to prevent people from driving through the grass. Chuck Leucht seconded the motions.

  • Observation Tower Removal — Earl Brosman, Tom Rich and Jim Kouns removed the observation tower a few weeks prior. Some of the salvagable wood has been taken to the lean-to east of the southernmost hangar. The deck and most of the remaining wood has been taken to the burn pile.

  • Restroom Renovation — Darren Roberts has a proposal for renovating the restrooms and also for removing a wall, replacing the ceiling and other work in the main room of the operations building.
Dog Roast: Originally scheduled for Saturday, September 22, with a rain date of Saturday, September 29. Dog Roast starts later afternoon. Club will buy the hot dogs, bratwurst, buns and soda pop, while members will pitch in with side dishes. Typical club costs have runabout $100. Darren Roberts donated $150 for events from his Oshkosh sales proceeds. Since many people will not be able to attend the Dog Roast on the 22nd, an impromptu event was planned for the 29th. Steve McClure motioned to move the Dog Roast to September 29; Wayne Deckard seconded. All voted in favor for the motion.

Treasurer's Report: $4,260.27 in checking; $2,026.11 in savings, with all bills to date paid. The club now has a monthly service charge on the PNC checking account.

Insurance: The club has been paying for its liability insurance monthly, with an annual cost of $100 for financing. Normal cost would be about $1,500 per year. Chad Williams motioned to pay the entire bill at once; Michael Mossman seconded. All but one voted in favor of the motion.

Fuel System: Underground fuel tanks are due at the end of 2012. Steve McClure recommended that the club buy card readers for access to the fuel. Estimated cost is about $6,000 per pump. After discussion, Earl Brosman will issue keys to club members who need to buy fuel and the club will lock up all remaining keys with no public access.

Asphalt Damage: The transient crop spraying crew allegedly damaged the new asphalt resurfacing. The club will attempt to contact them to pay for repairs.

Fall Property Clean-Up: Earl Brosman would like to schedule a property clean-up, specifically along the east side of the hangars. Trash has been accumulating, including tires, junk concrete and discarded hangar doors. The clean-up is tentatively scheduled for September 29. Chad Williams will check on the date and will ask Michael Mossman to send out an email blast asking for volunteers. Earl asked that members who have personal property outside of their hangars to take it home or move it inside so that it doesn't ge thrown away.

Old Tractor: John Saalwaechter knows of a farmer that would like to buy one of the old tractors on the property that belongs to the property owners. If the club were allowed to sell it, the money could be used for more appropriate property maintenance equipment.

Runway Maintenance: Wayne Deckard reported that the cracks in the runway will need to be sealed later in the fall when they open up more contraction.

Special Election: Steve McClure motioned that the club elect Dick Gurley as the club treasurer; Wayne Deckard seconded. All voted in favor.

Adjournment: Dick Gurley motioned to adjourn; Charles Westerfield seconded. All voted in favor.
