With a quorum declared club president Ray Rice opened the meeting at 9:03 a.m.

Executive Report — Ray Rice reported that things are going well; not a lot happening early in the spring. The club will need to schedule a day for the spring clean up.

Old Business — Ray Rice reports that Don Geisler will fill the hole left by the old fuel tank as soon as the surrounding soil is dry enough for a large truck to drive over it. Don will plant grass and water the area. Don has also ordered a new 3,000-gallon fuel tank; he is waiting for it to be delivered since he can't set it down until the hole is filled. The final location has not been determined but it will likely go immediately south of the fuel system's concrete pad. The new tank will only have a transfer pump; pilots will get their fuel from only one pump.

Fuel Report — Ray Rice stuck the fuel tank, and we have about 220 gallons. Ray ordered fuel yesterday; we will get 1,500 gallons this week. As of April 13 the price of fuel was $3.35 per gallon (before delivery) and is likely to change. The fuel company established the price every Friday at 4 p.m. The old fuel pump is in the maintenance hangar, taking some space on a floor cart. Top counter is a separate module; Earl Brosman would like to swap it out with the pump in use. Earl would like to salvage some parts then throw the rest of it away. Ray Rice asked that Dick Gurley check to see how much fuel we sold since the last load to verify if the numbers on the fuel pump are correct. If so then there is no need to swap out the pump head.

Enclosed Hangar Project — The new tenants for the enclosed hangar will be Matt Kreich, Kevin Hoffer, Don Geisler and Gary Hunter. Earl Brosman and Michael Mossman will pick up the materials at Menards over the weekend. The club has not yet determined if the doors will be built from volunteers (new tenants) or if we will hire the work to be done.

Flight Training School — Ray Rice has been talking with getting someone to operate a flight school at the airport but to date has not located someone interested or able to take on the project. Ray would consider using someone from Purdue if they were interested. Mark Poliak volunteered to contact another group that has a flight school. The flight scholarship program is temporarily on hold. The Cherokee has an inoperable transponder that is not repairable. Matt Kriech got a price on a transponder with ADSB out; Don Geisler may replace it but his intentions are unknown at this time. Geisler may also swap the transponder from his plane and replace it with a new ADSB out transponder. The swap-out may not be cost effective due to the amount of labor required.

Mowing — The club is looking for someone to do the mowing in 2018. The Dixie Chopper mower is working OK but the pull-along side mower is not reliable. During the March 2018 meeting the club discussed the small Ford tractor. The hydraulics won't lift a snow plow. The club estimated that it is worth between $1,000 and $1,500 as is. Jay Schaumberg will investigate its market value. It is not used at all, as the club no longer rolls the runway with it. Earl Brosman has offered the use of his Tracker for rolling the runway, as it is more comfortable and has air conditioning and a radio.

Maintenance Hangar — Ray Rice and others did an owner assisted annual inspection on John Saalwaechter's airplane in March. There are a lot of items stored in the maintenance hangar that had to be moved to make room for the airplane. Ray would like to see the room emptied and made more amenable for maintenance work. Ray would like for the 10-foot brake to be removed.

Associate Membership — The club held a discussion on whether or not partners on a BCAA-based aircraft should be individually required to be an associate member. No motion or action was taken on this discussion.

Other Business — Mark Poliak asked if he could borrow the roller to do Westfield's airport runway. The members present were OK with its use if he could bring it back within a week. Ray Rice motioned to OK its use; Michael Mossman seconded the motion. All voted in favor.

Fly-in Planning — The club's Biscuits and Gravy fly-in breakfast and Young Eagles event is on the same day (June 9) as the Noblesville EAA Chapter 67 fly-in breakfast. After discussion the club decided to reschedule our events to June 16, with the time of 9-11 for the breakfast and 12-2 for Young Eagles. Chuck Long will coordinate with the schools on the requirements for Young Eagles rides.

Other Regional Events — Westfield EAA Chapter 1527 Indy Flyers is hosting a pancake breakfast on Saturday, April 28, from 8 to 11 a.m. Menu consists of pancakes, sausage, milk, coffee and orange juice. Price is $5, pilots flying in eat for free.

Treasurer's Report — Dick Gurley reported via email that the club's checking account balance is $10,733.03 and the Gas Savings account balance is $10,611.02. Adam Coker has caught up on his back rents, paid through December 2018, and the amount due for fuel is only $214.25 total. Electric bills have been up but propane is down.

Adjournment — Ray Rice motioned to adjourn; Jay Schaumberg seconded. The meeting was adjourned.
