With a quorum declared club president Ray Rice opened the meeting at 9:02 a.m.

Minutes Accepted — Ray Rice motioned to approve the minutes from the May 2018 meeting; Chuck Leucht seconded. All in favor; the minutes are approved.

Thanks — Ray Rice offered the club's thanks to John Saalwaechter for running the May meeting, to Michael Mossman for keeping the records, to Chuck and Pam Leucht for organizing the fly-in, to Earl Brosman for organizing the clean-up day, and to Steve McClure for painting the picnic table.

Runway Report — There is a lot of loose gravel on the hard surface runway which will need to be swept or blown off. Don Geisler suggested that he might pay for some level of repair, with assistance from the club to help get the rocks out. We will need a work day to clean the runway immediately before the repairs. Don is also trying to get grass to grow on the soft surface runway.

Fuel System Report — Ray Rice reports that a new above-ground fuel tank is pending. With the new tank the club will be able to buy one-half of a semi load at a time, which will reduce the per-gallon fuel costs. The new tank will go to the south of the fuel pump. Earl Brosman reports that he has found a company that can supply a new set of fuel pump numbers for about $40 exchange. The club will need to by some mogas, as the tank is about half full.

Fuel Funding — John Saalwaechter moved that the club raise the price of fuel an additional 25 cents per gallon on the next load to build up funds for paying down the fuel debt and/or building a reserve for fuel system maintenance. Steve McClure seconded the motion. All voting were in approval; none opposed. Motion passed.

Fly-In Planning — Chuck Leucht called for volunteers to get the maintenance hangar back in order. Pam Leucht has the list from last year for the items that we will need to buy. Vickie Saalwaechter offered to lead up the serving crew. Michael Mossman will send a list of volunteers to Pam Leucht; at least three people will need to do the serving. Michael Mossman will send a copy of last year's fly-in notes to Ray Rice for review. Ray is expecting a larger turn-out this year. Line Crew volunteers: Chuck Long, Josh Long, Dick Gurley, Michael Mossman.

Young Eagles Report — Chuck Long has contacted Robert Taylor at Lebanon Community Schools to see if he has some kids who would like Young Eagles rides. Ray Rice asked Earl Brosman if he can set up a video in the operations building for kids to watch while they are waiting for their ride.

New Ratings — Josh Long is coming along well with his private pilot instruction. He just has some night flying to do before he goes for the check ride.

Spring Cleaning — Earl Brosman has a list of chores to be done; members can pick one and get started. Earl has offered the use of his pickup truck to get materials.

Taildragger Tour — The tour starts on Saturday, August 11, 8:30 a.m. at Boone County Airport. The tour will be supplying coffee and donuts to tour participants. The club will need to have a large hangar area available for their debriefing. A few chairs may be needed but most participants will stand during the debriefing. Club members who are assisting with the tour should be on site at 7:30. Since the Taildragger Tour is on the same date as the regular club meeting, the August meeting will start after the tour departs.

Hangar Door Report — Earl Brosman has a breakdown of expenses for the hangar door project. Members moving into the enclosed hangar will need to pay about $1200 each for the doors. Checks should be made out to Boone County Airport Association. Don Geisler wants the building painted the same color at the other buildings, and he will hire a crew to do the work.

Flight School Report — The transponder on the Cherokee 180 is not working; Don Geisler has authorized upgrading the transponder in his Archer, then will pay to move the Archer's old transponder to the flight school aircraft.

Mowing Report — Don Geisler has been mowing the open areas on the property. The club will need to mow the close-in areas around the buildings and around the runway lights. The weedeater is missing from the maintenance hangar. The backpack blower still works and does a great job of cleaning the parking ramp and runway. The Dixie Chopper mower has the deck set to the maximum height, which is where Don Geisler wants the grass cut. Earl Brosman has put some clamps on the deck adjuster so that it can't be lowered. Earl needs a list of volunteers to take turns mowing. Earl recommends that the mower be filled with gas everytime someone uses it, as it's a long walk back to the fuel pump when the mower runs out. Mark Poliak cautioned members to be careful when mowing along the ditch, as the mower might tip over, creating a dangerous situation.

Treasurer's Report — Checking account balance is $9,268.66; fuel savings account balance is $6,399.92. The club will need about $12,000 on hand the next time we purchase fuel, as we will be filling two tanks instead of one.

New Advisory Circular — Earl Brosman reported that the FAA has a new advisory circular on non-towered airports. Members are encouraged to read it.

Equipment Report — The operations building air conditioner is barely working; the club will need to get it serviced. The mowing equipment has been moved north to the hangar in the worst condition, saving good spaces for potential new members.

Oshkosh Planning — Earl Brosman will be driving his camper to Oshkosh this year; members are invited to stay with him. If anyone wants to ride they can share expenses. Earl also reports that members who want to camp in tents can stay in his area.

Next Meeting — The next meeting will be on Saturday, July 14, 2018, 9:00 a.m. in the Operations Building at Boone County Airport. The club will conduct its annual election of officers and directors at the meeting.

Adjournment — Ray Rice adjourned the meeting at 9:59 a.m.
