Club president Ray Rice brought the meeting to order at 9:04 a.m.

Introductions — Ray Rice allowed visitor Dave Longworth to introduce himself. Dave is interested in getting a pilot's license and buying into an aircraft. Following Longworth's introduction, the club led a brief roundtable introduction of attendanees

Acceptance of Minutes — Ray Rice moved to accept the April 2019 minutes; Chuck Long seconded the motion. Motion passed by voice vote.

Mowing Report — Earl Brosman rented a riding mower one time to mow around the property; the mower has since been returned. Steve McClure donated an old riding mower to the club, which now needs maintenance. The belt broke; the mower is slow and gets stuck easily, however it will mow the easy places. Tom Rich has the Dixie Chopper mower and the new engine; Ray Rice will reach out to Tom to check on its status. Earl reports that it has been too wet to do much mowing. Don Geisler mowed part of the grounds, as the rest has been too wet.

New Membership Update — Joe Oyler brought a Mooney to the field. Richard Rodriguez brought a Cessna 150 to the field, which is being re-assembled, and has another Cessna 150 in Georgia that he intends to bring to the field. Chris Johnson wanted to rent a hangar on a temporary basis while he works on his hangar at Hendricks County Airport. Ray Rice discussed a day rate, which would have required a change in the club rules. After round table discussion it appears that the best overall rate for Johnson would be the standard club application rate and monthly hangar rate with no change in the rules. Ray will notify Johnson of the decision.

Aircraft Accident Report — The small biplane that crashed on the field has now been removed. The fire/rescue truck damaged part of the runway at the mid-field turn-around and will need to be fixed. Earl Brosman bought some cold patch for a temporary repair. Ray Rice will contact Don Geisler to find out how he wants it fixed. The club discussed the cost of the repairs and noted that normally when the fire department comes out for a rescue someone gets a bill for the services. Earl noted that the aircraft owner did not have insurance.

Fuel Tank Report — Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) did a recent inspection of the fuel tank, which did not pass. A pipe needs to be sealed in a plastic boot, which has to be done by a licensed technician. The club has 45 days to do the work. The tank needs to be empty to do the work. We will stick the tanks to check for fuel level. The club may need to send out an email to sell off enough fuel to empty the tank.

Mogas Report — Earl Brosman ordered a batch of no-alcohol mogas for the mowing and aircraft use. He was not given an invoice so we do not yet know the price per gallon.

EAA Report — Michael Mossman gave a report on either setting up a new EAA chapter at the club or converting the club into an EAA chapter. Initial analysis indicates that there are so many chapters in the region that launching a chapter on the field will not attract many (if any) new tenants. Ray Rice would like to send a letter to current EAA Chapter 1311 members in Hendricks County to see how many would be interested in coming here.

Young Eagles Report — Matt Kriech volunteered to coordinate interest in Young Eagles events on the field. Mark Poliak will coordinate with the Westfield EAA chapter to sponsor Young Eagles events on the field.

Nominations for July Elections — Dick Gurley will re-run for treasurer; Michael Mossman will re-run for secretary; Ray Rice will run for vice president; John Saalwaechter will re-run for vice president; Matt Kriech will run for president. We do not yet have candidate commitments for directors.

Treasurer's Report — Dick Gurley reported via email that the club has $6,553.82 in the checking account and $9,457.82 in fuel savings account. Cash flow, fuel bills owed and hangar rent sheets from the end of the month are posted on the bulletin board. All bills to date are paid in full.

Oshkosh Planning — Earl Brosman will be driving his motor home to AirVenture in Oshkosh again this year and has invited club members to come and camp with him. More details will be announced at the June 2019 meeting.

Adjournment — Michael Mossman moved to adjourn; Ray Rice adjourned the meeting.
