With a quorum declared Club President Matt Kriech brought the meeting to order at 9:06 a.m. EDT

Introduction of Guests — Joe Hostetler and Dave Steiner are Boy Scouts leaders who previously brought scouts to participate in Young Eagles flights. Both were inspired to take flying lessons and now have pilot's licenses and an interest in buying an aircraft.

Dog Roast Planning — The annual BCAA Dog Roast will be on Saturday, October 12, 2019, starting at 4:00 p.m. The next monthly club meeting will be held during the Dog Roast. The club will buy the hot dogs, buns and fixings, and members are asked to bring a dish to share. Club members, club alumns and their immediate guests are invited to attend. Gene Hollingsworth will be bringing firewood.

Treasurer's Report — Checking account balance is $2,904.84; fuel savings balance is $6,204.66. All bills except September's rent have been paid. The cash balance is down bit, as we paid for propane and auto fuel. We owe about $2,000 in insurance renewal and about $200 for an accounting services bill. Fuel due notices are posted on the bulletin board.

Delinquent Accounts — Dick Gurley mentioned that a few members are severely delinquent in rent payments. Michael Mossman to contact the members and press for timely payment. Gurley mentioned a new Indiana law on abandoned aircraft, which makes it easier for organizations to recover unpaid bills on aircraft.

Lease Status — The club lease traditionally needed to be renewed in July or August. The current lease expires at the end of the year, so the club still has an active and valid lease. We are negotiating with the property owner on a new lease with reduced monthly rent for the coming year.

Mowing Report — The club recently bought a large zero-turn mower for trimming around the property. Don Geisler is still mowing the runway but has asked that the club take on more of the other areas. Earl Brosman estimates that the club will need about six hours of mowing and would like to get another 50-inch mower so that two people could work together. Jay Schaumberg has offered to lend the club a Toro mower with the condition that he can get it whenever he needs it as a back-up at home. No action was taken on the recommendation to buy another mower. Earl will be contacting members about mowing.

Snow Plow Report — The club currently does not have any equipment for snow removal, other than a large snower blower that is sufficient for clearing in front of hangars. Earl Brosman recommended that the club post with the FAA that the airport does not do snow removal. The club will locate a local contractor to plow the runway and clear out in front of hangar if a member wants to fly.

Airport Manager — Earl Brosman requested that he be given the official title Airport Manager, as many of the functions he is performing are already managerial. Matt Kriech motioned for the request and Dick Gurley seconded. All present voted in favor.

Airport Contacts — The FAA keeps a list of official airport contacts, including those who can make NOTAMs on behalf of the airport. The club will update the list. Earl Brosman is currently able to answer the office telephone with his cell phone and will be added to the list. We will ask Don Geisler if he still wants on the list or not.

Fuel System Report — The club will need three members to apply for the fuel system operator license. At the June 2019 meeting Ray Rice determined that Matt Kriech will be Operator A, Ray Rice will be Operator B, and Earl Brosman will be Operator C.

Utilities Expenses — Dick Gurley reported that the club is running over budget on electrical costs. Members discussed the cost of engine pre-heaters and other electrical drains. The main club air compressor kicks on and off and often runs constantly. Mark Poliak will search for leaks in the air pipe system and attempt to fix it.

Fly-Ins — Michael Mossman updated the club on up-coming fly-in events and posted a new list of events on the bulletin board. Additionally, he mentioned that the airport restaurant at Greencastle is now re-opened.

Adjournment — Jay Schaumberg motioned to adjourn the meeting; Dick Gurley seconded. All voted in favor of adjournment at 9:49 a.m. EDT
