After a roundtable introduction of members, and with a quorum declared Club President Matt Kriech brought the meeting to order at 9:13 a.m. EST.

Acceptance of the Minutes — Since the October meeting was held concurrent with the annual Dog Roast, no formal minutes were taken at that time.

Treasurer's Report — Checking account balance is $1,526.09; fuel savings account is $8,432.57. All bills paid to date except one, which was for a receipt for permeated powder, purchased at NAPA by an unknown buyer. Treasurer Dick Gurley led a discussion about a member who removed his airplane from the field for four months then brought it back, believing that he was current on rent. Matt Kriech's opinion was without a formalized rule the club will need to consider this account up to date.

Delinquent Rent Report — Dick Gurley led a discussion about delinquent hangar rentals. Only one member is seriously in arrears, but has claimed to send a check to catch up on rents and included a USPS receipt with tracking for the check.

Hangar Rental Rules — Dick made motion to have a committee formalize rental rules. Matt Kriech volunteered to lead the committee and Michael Mossman will assist. Earl Brosman proposed that when the rules are enacted and added to the membership application, all members will need sign new (or renewal) applications.

Fuel Report — Dick Gurley encouraged everyone buying fuel to be current with rents and fuel. The club's cash flow is tight this month; if members who are in arrears get caught up we will be OK. Dick reminded members that fuel purchase payments are due at the end of the month. Ray Rice asked that since the club can't buy and store as much fuel, if we should pay back part of the fuel loans and reduce our interest costs. John Saalwaechter commented that he would still like for the club to mark up fuel by 25 cents more to pay down debt or have funds on have for fuel system improvements, repairs or replacement.

Club Equipment Report — Dick Gurley mentioned that we still have a few uncollected pledges for funds to pay for the mower. Additional donations will be appreciated. Dick added that the club has not yet been paid back for the bush hog. The club also sold the unused anodes for the old fuel tank.

New Business — Matt Kriech talked about an opportunity to apply for capital improvements funds that would be matched by the state govenment on a 50/50 basis. These funds are available every five years, and applicants need a five-year plan. Matt would put together a grant application but the club will need a plan and back the plan up with funds. The club will need a discussion with the airport owner about the opportunity. Matt will contact INDOT to see what the requirements are. The club then held an informal discussion about widening and/or lengthening the runway. Matt and Ray Rice would also like to meet with the mayor to see what the city's interests are, then meet with the airport ower.

Equipment Theft — Matt Kriech noted the theft of a Garmon 430 GPS radio from a member's aircraft. Club members are reminded to lock their aircraft and/or hangars, and keep valuable secured.

Maintenance and Repairs — Earl Brosman offered the following list of repairs and other projects:

  • Weather station doesn't work, will cost $40 to fix or replace for $150. Matt Kriech may have a working display to contribute to the repair
  • Membership Application Form needs updating. Michael Mossman is working on it and will complete it when the new rules are formalized.
  • Doors need to be repaired on the Maintenance Hangar
  • Runway and taxiways needs the loose gravel or stones cleaned off. The club has a backpack blower for volunteers to use.
  • Mower needs to be winterized
  • Hydraulics are making noises on the John Deere mower and need to be serviced
  • John Deere mower needs routine maintenance, filters, etc., about $200 in expenses before next spring
  • Change chart supplement phone contact number from Ray's RIce's cellphone back to the club's phone number.
  • Courtesy car (Matt Kriech asked that the city provide a car, not the club, as the car would benefit the city and not the club).
  • Establish rules on which partners on an aircraft can buy fuel.
Change of Meeting Time — The club held a brief discussion on a change of meeting day and time, as Saturday mornings are when the fly-ins are, and difficult for members to get out. Earl Brosman mentioned potential time conflicts with Westfield Airport meetings and Indianapolis Flying Club meetings. Some members mentioned that the second Thursday of the month would work. Michael Mossman will send out an informal poll to members to see what days, dates or times would work best for maximum participation.

Holiday Party — Matt Kriech would like for the club to host a holiday party this year. After discussion the date was set for Saturday, December 7, at about 6 or 7 p.m. Location will either be at Wabash Brewing or another location, which Matt will arrange. He will also get the food catered. John Saalwaechter would like for the club to have another White Elephant gift exchange.

Adjournment — Matt Kriech adjourned the meeting at 10:15 a.m. EST
