With a quorum declared club director John Saalwaechter brought the meeting to order at 9:07 a.m. EST.

Equipment Report — John Saalwaechter's Tracker vehicle is available for snow plowing. It is kept in an open hangar but may be moved to the maintenance hangar while no aircraft projects are in.

Maintenance Hangar Report — The maintenance hangar west door will not open; the rollers catch on the splice in the tracks. Earl Brosman will put together a group after the meeting to make repairs. A group is rebuilding an engine in the maintenance hangar. John Saalwaechter motioned to charge a rate of $3 per day, provided that enough space is available for an entire airframe to still rent the hangar. Michael Mossman seconded the motion. All voted in favor. Mark Poliak mentioned that he spoke with other mechanics in the area who thought that $10 per day was a fair price and wanted to use it. The members present discussed renting the maintenance hangar to non-members as a revenue generator. The discussion was deferred for a future meeting.

Treasurer's Report — Checking account balance is $6,035.21; fuel savings balance is $10,754.44. All bills paid to date except property rent. The club made its annual interest payment on the fuel loan. With only one fuel tank the club cannot buy as much fuel as before, so we are holding more cash in the fuel savings account than needed. Dick Gurley motioned that the club repay $5,000 on the fuel loan, either paying all to one creditor or splitting 50/50 between the two. The motion was seconded. All voted in favor; the motion passed. Chuck Long motioned to accept the Treasurer's Report; Mark Poliak seconded. The motion passed.

Fuel Report — The club has just a few hundred gallons of fuel and needs to order more. Earl Brosman would like to place the order but needs to consult with Ray Rice for a supplier. Earl will ask the fuel supplier to bring a longer hose for filling the tank because the ground is soft. Members are having problems with the fuel pump; the issue is with resetting the numbers and the pump loses its prime. Earl sets the price on the pump to ten percent of the actual fuel price. John Saalwaechter led a discussion about when the club would need to replace the pump. Earl Brosman recommended that the club swap the nozzle from the spare pump due to the auto-shutoff not working reliably.

Airport Future Report — Club president Matt Kriech met with the Lebanon mayor and separately with Don Geisler over the future of Boone County Airport, and will give a report at the February 2020 meeting.

Hangar Vacancy Report — Dick Gurley reported that his group moved their Mooney to Eagle Creek Airport. Jason Wright will be moving his Piper Cherokee into the vacant hangar as soon as it is available.

New Ratings — Former club member Josh Long has his CFI rating and is instructing at a Phoenix AZ airport. He is working towards an airline job and will likely get hired after he accumulates 1,500 hours. Matt Kriech is working on a CFI rating and is projecting that he will get it by March 2020.

Aircraft Project Reports — Betsy Boleman reports that her club is rebuilding the Continental O-200 engine on their Cessna 150. Chuck Long reported on a new iPad system with GPS, electronic gyros and synthetic vision, which should work in any airplane and costs only about $700.

2020 Meeting Schedule — Earl Brosman proposed that the club change its meeting day and time from its current Saturday morning 9:00 a.m., as that interferes with many of the members' flying opportunities. Earl would prefer any day but Saturday or Sunday. Chuck Long recommended a Wednesday evening. Other evenings of the week were discussed, with preference to avoid the established meeting times of other nearby aviation groups. The members informally decided to table the discussion until the February meeting so the that club president can weigh in on the meeting schedule.

Mowing Report — Earl Brosman and Mark Poliak stated that the mowing season may start earlier this year and are looking for volunteers to mow. Mark will check with his nephew to see if he will volunteer again this year. Other volunteers are still needed.

Transitions — John Saalwaechter plans on retiring June 30, 2020. Chuck Long plans on retiring February 2021 and instructing part time.

Adjournment — John Saalwaechter adjourned the meeting at 10:35 a.m. EST
