With a quorum declared, club president Matt Kriech opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m. EDT

PPG Fly-In Event Report — Matt Kriech reported that the event was nothing but a stunning success. He received great feedback from participants and spectators. There were no injuries, no property damage and the airport was cleaned up nicely. 35 pilots came from 17 states; Monty Bolinger commented that the club should expect participation to double next year. Earl Brosman reported no complaints about the operation. No report on expenses or revenues was available by meeting date. Matt would like to see the event grow and offered the club's thanks to everyone involved.

New Business — Earl Brosman bought some LED bulbs for the rotating beacon lights; the bulbs are rated at 35,000 hours and consume only one-tenth of the electricity of the old incandescent bulbs. Ray Rice motioned to reimburse Earl; Matt Kriech seconded. All voted in favor of reimbursement.

Maintenance Items — The runway has lots of loose gravel that needs to be cleared. The club discussed various ways to clean it. Earl Brosman mentioned that the club has paint for the hangars and needs to use it before freezing weather comes. Due to the amount of work involved Earl recommended that the club hire a crew to do the painting. Based on painting the maintenance hangar several years ago, the estimate is about $600 in labor per hangar. Since the club has saved money by mowing with volunteers this year Matt Kriech motioned to paint one hangar with Mark Poliak's crew to get a better feel for the overall cost; Ray Rice seconded. All voted in favor of the motion.

Fly-Ins and Events — Nulltown Wing Nuts fly-in is the weekend of September 18. Kokomo's fly-in and air show is September 25, with Young Eagles on September 26.

Treasurer's Report — Checking account balance is $15,648.85, and fuel savings balance is $3,402.12. No members are more than two months in arrears on hangar rent. Receivables for fuel are $2,616.41.

Fuel Bill Due — Chuck Long reports that one person filled out a fuel ticket using a deregistered N-number and using a name not on the club roster. The total owed was $55.35. Anyone knowing who may have purchased the fuel is asked to notify a club officer so we can properly collect the amount due.

Beware of Scams — Matt Kriech says someone is attempting to club members using officer contacts from the website. Be aware of anyone asking to sell something to us or requesting a donation using an email.

Dog Roast — Matt Kriech is organizing a fund raising bicycle ride on Saturday, September 25 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., beginning and ending at the airport. There are no charges for attendance, and everyone is invited. The ride will raise money for Type 1 diabetes. The annual Dog Roast will be concurrent with the ride but is starting at 5 p.m. at the airport. Michael Mossman will send notice/invitations to club members by email.

Vehicle Storage — The club discussed vehicles left for extended periods on the airport property. The club has a precedent that long-term storage will only be in rented space (hangars); otherwise vehicles should not be left on the property. The club does approve vehicles left overnight while the owner is flying club-based aircraft.

Associate Membership Notes — Larry Poe asked why the club would expect someone to pay an associate membership initiation fee and annual dues if there are few benefits and the airport is already public access. Earl Brosman led a discussion on who would have permission to fly from the field, generating a need for associate members. Matt Kriech offered some recommendations for future consideration but made no proposal for a change in the bylaws. Matt did recommend that associate membership dues be due for renewal on April 1 of each year.

Adjournment — Matt Kriech motioned to adjourn; Michael Mossman seconded. The meeting was adourned at 7:58 p.m.
