With a quorum declared, club president Matt Kriech brought the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m. EST.

Old Business — No old business from the December 16, 2021 meeting (Holiday Party) to review.

Holiday Party — Matt Kriech gave a brief update on the festivities of the annual Holiday Party, which was held at Wabash Brewing in Indianapolis on Wednesday evening, December 16, 2021. No attendance was taken, but about 18 members and guests attended. Dinner was catered by Squealer's restaurant, with snacks and drinks provided by Matt Kriech. All present seemed to enjoy the evening. The party concluded with the club's traditional "White Elephant" gift exchange.

Treasurer's Report — Checking account balance is $11,213.24, fuel savings balance is $3,359.42. All bills to date are paid, although Earl Brosman reports that the club owes about $600 for supplies and ice cream. Due to the insurance claim the previous year, our liability insurance premium had a significant increase. We also paid the deductible last year. A few members' rents are paid in advance. Members are reminded that Dick Gurley is no longer the treasurer; members with autopay for their rent should update their payables address to Boone County Airport Association, 1600 E 250 S, Lebanon IN 46052. The club still owes half of the principal on the fuel loan. Matt Kriech motioned to pay down the loan from the general fund, Earl Brosman seconded the motion. The motion passed on a voice vote, with none dissenting.

Liability Insurance — The members discussed the limitations of the club's liability insurance, which does not cover losses from issues like hangar damage, etc. The club recomended that Michael Mossman send out letters reminding members that they are responsible for the insurance coverage of their own aircraft.

Airport Equipment — Ray Rice bought a wind sock but it not yet been installed. The fuel pump is leaking and needs a new hose; Earl Brosman will buy one. Matt Kriech says that the sun degrades the hose material, and the hose might last longer if kept on a hose reel. Due to unknown costs no motion was made to search for an automated hose reel. John Saalwaechter bought a few lights at a garage sale and recommended that the club buy some, too. Earl already installed some dusk-to-dawn LED lights between the hangars. Eal also bought a used 32-foot extension ladder at a good price. It is too heavy to move easily so he will sell it and buy one that is a bit shorter. and lighter. The snow plow is in the hangar and will be available when it snows. The truck has knobby tires on it. The paint on the most recently-painted hangar is holding up pretty well.

Runway Report — The runway is in acceptable condition and is holding up well. Don Geisler brought out a company a few years ago to grind out the worst sections of the runway and pave over those sections.

Fuel Report — Avgas is now $4.90 per gallon, which is 50 cents per gallon over cost. The club held a discussion on how to price a fuel sale, whether by the programmed value on the pump or by the gallons measured. Earl Brosman will tape over the sale numbers so members will need to pay by the gallons displayed on the pump. Members are advised to leave the power on the fuel pump so the pump's memory stays active.

New Business — The north hangar needs a timber replaced and the metal roofing needs to be nailed or screwed down.

Real Estate Transactions — 2,000 acres of land south of the Boone County Fairgrounds was just sold for redevelopment. Acreage east of the fairgrounds is also up for rezoning. FedEx bought 2,000 acres out by Western Boone, but no plans have been announced. Michael Mossman will send out a note in the next email newsletter asking members to notify the club when the rezoning meetings will be held.

Equipment for Sale — Jason Wright has a wingtip version SkyBeacon for sale.

Tenant Seniority Issue — The owners of two Cessna 172s petitioned the club for rights to a specific hangar. The club determined at the meeting that the long-standing rule has been that requests will be awarded based on seniority. The lower seniority tenant announced that he will be vacating the hangar and leaving the field after his aircraft finishes its annual inspection.

New Ratings: Karen Rieger now has her Private pilots license, and has already flown to some destination dinners. Congratulations to Karen!
