Club vice president Ray Rice brought the meeting to order.

Old Business — Earl Brosman motioned to approve the minutes from the March 10, 2022 meeting; Mark Poliak seconded the approval. All voted in favor.

Property Maintenance — Ray Rice bought facia boards for hangar repairs. Earl Brosman and Mark Poliak will install them.

Maintenance Items:

  • Clean rocks off of the runway
  • Repair/replace north wind sock (Ray Rice volunteered)
  • Repair rotating beacon (doesn't rotate)
  • Repair roofs on the three northern hangars
  • Weed control
  • Paint runway lines
  • Hangar doors on hangar 2 need to be painted
  • Scrape off the blacktop (Earl Brosman)
Mowing Report — Earl Brosman says that it's time to mow but currently it's too windy. The club offered a huge thanks to Steve McClure for preparing the mowers for the summer.

EAA Chapter 1311 Report — Brett Pritchett agreed to head up the EAA chapter and has filed all of the paperwork and recruited some folks from Saab to fill the officer spots. Matt Kriech and Ray have offered up the 1947 Commonwealth Sky Ranger as a club project. This aircraft is one of three left in the world, and was once the aircraft of the year at Oshkosh. The chapter's kick-off meeting was last week to connect with new members. Anyone interested in being part of the chapter should contact Brett. The EAA meetings will be after the regular Boone County Airport Association meetings. John Saalwaechter will get EAA hats for the chapter members.

Treasurer's Report — No formal treasurer's report was presented but the club currently has enough money to pay its bills, not a great amount in reserves but no need to worry.

Fuel Report — Members buying fuel should use the numbers on the west side of the pump. Write the number on the clip board, and be sure that the buyer before you did not forget to write down his/her numbers.

Hangar Occupancy Report — Earl Brosman reports on lots of calls but no commitments to rent, and no call backs. The Cessna 310 needs to be moved; its size is encroaching on another hangar, making it unrentable. The club currently has six spaces available.

Other Items — Mark Poliak is arranging to have the used engine oil in the tote container removed.

Airport Show — Burt Fetzer wants to put together a fundraiser at the airport, which would be an airplane, motorcycle and car show. As a fundraiser, entrants and visitors would have to pay a small fee, and maybe host a raffle for a ride in an airplane. Will have a plan at the next meeting with logistics and strategies. Ray Rice moved to approve a tentative date of June 25, 2022, and Mark Poliak seconded. The motion passed with unanimous approval.

Associate Members — John Saalwaechter asked for a list of associate members; his concern is that there is no correct training for operation. The club needs to reach out to the PPG leader and get them to volunteer. Earl Brosman and Mark Poliak suggested a sign requiring all PPG operators to be associate members, and as members to volunteer and come to the meetings.

Adjournment — Mark Poliak motioned to adjourn; The meeting was adjourned at 8:28 p.m.
