September 2022 Meeting Minutes — Earl Brosman motioned to approve the minutes of the September 2022 meeting; Kevin Hoffer seconded. All voted in favor of approval.

Dog Roast Report — About 30 people attended the annual Dog Roast, including some club alumni. The evening was a bit chilly but the weather was clear and the bonfire kept the outdoor visitors warm. The club spent about $55 in food and additional set-ups for the event. Kevin Hoffer cleaned up the maintenance hangar after the event. The club has some leftover hotdogs, bratwurts and buns in the refrigerator. Michael Mossman is keeping a report on expenses, supplies and checklist items to aide in next year's event.

Treasurer's Report — Checking account balance is $9,624.81; fuel savings balance is $111.39. The club has not borrowed any money for operating expenses. Several members have caught up on their fuel bills so the receivables are lower but more than $2,475 is still due. Club treasurer Chuck Long has a bill for $32 from the insurance company and is asking if anyone knows what it is for. The club has not yet seen our annual liability insurance bill. Earl Brosman will have some labor bills for painting and mowing.

Fuel System Report — The fuel system will need an inspection for the state. One tank inspection will cost about $750; the other side will be a little less. The club will need to sell some fuel to lower the level because the inspector will have to get inside of the tank.

Waste Oil Report — The club has been quoted a rate of $3,000 for disposal of a 275-gallon tote of waste oil. Earl Brosman recommends that the club buy another tote and postpone getting rid of the oil until the costs are more reasonable. Khyler Holderbaum says he may know someone who may be able use the oil for heating and will report back to the club.

Hangar Tenancy Report — The club has six open-air hangars available for rent. Earl Brosman reports that all prospects have been looking for enclosed hangars only. The club also has a few hangars that are not suitable for aircraft but could accommodate trailers. The club held a brief discussion about enclosing a hangar; Earl Brosman says that the northern-most hangar is the only one suitable for adding doors. Ray Rice reminded the club of the multiple issues in building doors, including the note that it did not result in any new members; all of the occupants of the enclosed hangar were current members that moved. Several members are four or more months behind on hangar rent. Michael Mossman will reach out to them to get caught up on rent.

Winter Preparation Report — Earl Brosman will need some assistance baiting mouse traps and putting out poison. John Saalwaechter will leave his Tracker vehicle and snowplow in the maintenance hangar for the club to use for snow control.

EAA Chapter 1311 Report — The EAA Chapter 1311 has had meeting in the last couple of months, but no one from the chapter was present for the BCAA meeting to report. The chapter meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month but the meeting time was not known by the club members present.

Young Eagles Report — Earl Brosman flew his Ercoupe to Crawfordsville, where Albert Fetser flew kids for about four hours. Chuck Long spoke with a Boy Scouts scoutmaster in Noblesville, who did not sound too interested in Young Eagles.

Christmas Party planning — Matt Kriech offered again to host the annual BCAA holiday party at Wabash Brewing in Indianapolis. Party date will be on Sunday, December 11; time to be announced. Matt will order catering from Squealer's. Details will be announced after the November 10 meeting, but members can expect the party expenses to be similar to last year, along with the annual White Elephant gift drawing.

Former Members Report — Chuck Long's son Josh, who was an Associate member, is now in the Air Force. He has graduated from officer's school and is assigned to flight training at Laughlin Air Force Base in Del Rio TX.

Adjournment — Earl Brosman motioned to adjourn; Chuck Long seconded. The meeting was adjourned at 8:07 p.m. EDT.
