Approval of Minutes — The minutes of the January 12, 2023 meeting were approved by a voice vote.

Old business — The inspection of the fuel tank is scheduled for February 27; the club as asked for an earlier date. The club will order fuel immediately after the inspection. The inspection will cost about $1,700.

Treasurer's Report — Checking account balance is $8,198.86; fuel savings account balance is $9,695.40. The fuel debt has been paid off.

Maintenance Issues — Earl Brosman reports the following property maintenance issues need attention:

  • Runway needs cleaned off. The club has a backpack blower; it will take several solid days to do it all. Steve Koch also has access to six heavy blowers if the club wants to get a crew together.
  • Bait and set mouse traps
  • Service mowers for upcoming mowing season
  • Fix air compressor (install new switch and safety valve)
  • Install timer for the fuel pump, set to 60 minutes, connect in-line in a secondary box
  • Repair doors on south side of maintenance hangar building. Need someone who can weld, as the tracks are now misaligned and the rollers are hitting the splice. The doors catch on the bottom, too, and need cutting down. Job will take two or three people
  • Move the eastern-most door on Chuck Long's hangar to the outer track for the Steve Koch's Piper Colt to fit in. Michael Mossman to send an email looking for volunteers to do the doors
  • Runway lines due for repainting
  • Runway lights need inspected and repaired
  • Install thick rubber matts to surround the runway lights
EAA Chapter 1311 Update — Tim Aliff is the president, meetings are at his house. Dennis Paradise donated parts for a Hatz biplane, Michael Mossman to ask if they can store them in the maintenance hangar attic.

Electronic Payment System — Matt Kriech will investigate to see if the club can get an electronic payment system without the transaction fees.

Part Time Jobs Available — Earl Brosman suggested hiring kids for daily maintenance. In the next club email newsletter Michael Mossman will ask if anyone has a kid who would like to work.

Maintenance Hangar Report — Wentworth Aircraft pick up Michael's airplane any day now. Insurance company will pay until January 15; Wentworth will pay remainder. Michael will generate an invoice for Earl Brosman to submit. Earl reports that fuel for the maintenance hangar is about gone.

Equipment Proposal — Earl Brosman found two rotary brooms that mount on the front of a truck or small SUV for about $2,000 each; they would function as runway sweepers. The brooms rollers adjust up and down with a winch, and are turned by a separate gas motor. Michael Mossman to send a club email asking for donations, which may be considered an investment by members in protecting their propellers.

Hangar Vacancy Report — The club has five open hangars and will have another when Earl Brosman moves his Ercoupe back to his main hangar. Earl and Mark Poliak would like to take over the entire east hangar room when Chuck Long moves to Michael Mossman's hangar.

New Business — Steve Koch and a friend want to host a pork barbecue fly-in. They will smoke some pork butts for the event. Matt Kriech recommended that the club not host a car show at the same time. No action taken on the event.

Adjournment — The meeting was adjourned at 7:54 p.m. EST.
